🦎 Guild Wars 2 How Many Professions Can You Have
- (Sylvari) Take root: a 3s invuln that can be priceless on builds that lack survivability and don't have great elite skills choices. - (Asura) Technobabble and pain inverter: Both skills have decent effects for decent CD which is rare. - (Charr) Shrapnel mine: It is stronger than many profession skills, thought few even think about using it.
I didn't do this, but if I were to start over, the only thing I'd really care about would be to have one character with 2 disciplines that can craft complimentary ascended mats. so for example weaponsmith and tailor. or armoursmith and huntsman or something like that. right now I can craft 3 ascended mats on multiple characters, but to get the fourth I always have to relog.
I'm trying to decide what the best profession/class would be to duo with him. We are enjoying casual PvE right now and I'm really looking forward to the PvP. The emphasis for the duo should lean towards PvP. I currently like: Warrior. Thief. Mesmer. Elementalist. Maybe Engineer but they seem a little dull early levels.
The main hand slot can hold one one-handed weapon or a two-handed weapon. The off hand slot can hold one off-hand weapon or, depending on the profession, a one-handed weapon, but can not be used when a two-handed weapon is equipped. The aquatic weapon slot can hold one aquatic weapon. All professions have two sets of weapon slots, each with a
In Guild Wars 2, the Path to Endgame leads to raids and strike missions. Before you venture into one of those brightly-colored portals though, you need to choose a profession to play. As opposed to the traditional MMO holy trinity, there’s a soft trinity that fits into Guild Wars 2’s faster-paced combat system. This can make picking your
Many, many fantasy mmorpgs have similar approaches to combat: press keys in combination til the mob is dead. Guild Wars 2 has a far more flexible skill system than many of its competitors, I think. Combat isn't faceroll easy, but it also isn't carpal tunnel syndrome hard either.
Hi, I'm Jon Peters. I'm a systems designer on Guild Wars 2. I design stuff like skills, character classes (professions), and combat. Like we posted on the blog, I’m here to answer your questions about professions, combat, skills, my work on Guild Wars 2, what it’s like to work at ArenaNet, and stuff like that, so ask away. This thread is
It is important to note that there are no “trinity” (tank, heal, DPS) roles tied to professions in Guild Wars 2. Instead, professions can equip certain equipment, traits, and skills to fit these roles in group play. While all professions can typically fulfill a variety of roles, some are better equipped to be a healer or a tank than others.
0% if you consider that Guild Wars: Eye of the North and Guild Wars 2 were conceived together before the former's release in 2007, which largely served to set up the non-human races to be playable in GW2.
The thief (daredevil) profession is also very fun and provides a very different play style from all of the other classes (except maybe mesmer). I dont think you can go wrong with any of them as the expac looks to truly shine on many levels. Its an exciting time to play/start guild wars 2
GW2 does a good job with a lot of account bound stuff (please account bound crafting!!) so it isn't really that bad. But when you're in a guild and you bounce around characters a lot to play different classes, it's difficult to keep track of who is who (minor gripe, but one that takes immersion down a bit for me, by what name do I call them? lol).
Thief is the most predictable class in the game which is just saved by cheesy mechanics (that's why I don't play it anymore after maining it for 3 years). As a thief you either kill your target without much effort or you run away. There is no "outplay class" in the game. GW2 is rock-paper-scissors.
Professions. Balance Implications of new weapon mastery. If elite spec weapons are to be made accessible from within core classes and other elite specs, then this means that A LOT of tuning on all specs needs to be made, or else every class will effectively be reduced to a single elite spec. I will explain.
Use armorsmith and weaponsmith in the Rev and tailor and artificier in the mirage (leatherwork and huntsman for the Ranger). Power Soulbeast is very fun. congrate, you own the 3 most op classes for open world. herald, untamed, mirage. pick any, all great. optionally run celestial gear for even more survivability.
I am new in Guild Wars 2 and played a Thief to lvl 80. Now i wanted to play a other profession, wherei can play with two Swords. So i cant decide between Chronomancer and Revenant. I want to play more PvE, Fractals, Raids etc. At least which of the twoprofessions ist a better "Allrounder".I want deal Damage than support.
